Papatoetoe R.S.A Bowling Club

Papatoetoe R.S.A Bowling Club was founded in 1952 with the pavilion and first day of play on 15 October 1955. Over the years, improvements such as new greens, hall additions, installing a sprinkler system and building a lounge were made. The club’s emblem is the kiwi, symbolic because it appeared on all the NZ Army vehicles during World War II. In 2007, the mens’ club was joined by some of the Papatoetoe Women’s Bowling Club. The block perimeter walls of the second green mark various battles where New Zealand servicemen fought. In April 2013, the club changed its name to ‘St. George Bowls and Sports Club Inc’. It has a collection of over 3000 bowling Badges.
